Delays

Hello everyone,
So here we are, almost a fortnight from the last post, and I still don't have the story ready. For this I apologize. Life got really busy. However, the first draft of the story is done, and by tonight it should be e-mailed out for editing. If all goes well, the story should be up by Wednesday. Once again, sorry about the delay.

Maps and Setting

Hi again. Still going to be a while before an actual story shows up here, but I wanted to introduce you to part of the setting. The first story will take place on a small Island called Zyric. Zyric is part of an island chain known as the Aremian Isles. centuries ago, the Aremian Isles were separated from the world at large by an Archmage named Dalaric Vermilion who placed layers of wards, geas and illusions around the region to avoid any contact between the two. Legends disagree on exactly why the Archmage sundered the two. This lead to a unique evolution of culture on the Isles, completely seperate from the world at large. Over time this fact was forgotten by the Islanders who believed Aremus to be the entire world. This ended, approximately 400 years ago (100th year of the 4th era, FE 100) when the mages Istar and Galadast discovered and tore down the barriers, reuniting the Aremian Isles with the rest of Paradur. Prior to this, the Isles had faced numerous invasion from demonic and fiendish forces seeking to use the Isles as a hidden base within Paradur, from which they could launch an invasion on the rest of the world. Due to this history, the Islanders are regarded, and rightly so, as  a powerful force to be reckoned with, and as Paradur's leading experts on the fiendish and demonic planes.

The first story shall begin in the small town of Billin, in the south-east corner of the kingdom of Silverhelm on Zyric. Billin would have remained a small and uninfluencial town, were in not for two monumental happenstances. During the first Demon War, Billin the town at which the mortal races, under General Aonton Whilhem, won their first decisive victory, the turning point of the war. The other fact that warrants Billin a place in the history books is the visit of two at that time unknown mages. These mages took up residence in a small, abandoned fort just outside Billin in the Brim Forest. The Mages, Istar and Galadast, would come to be the worlds most powerful and famous wizards, starting a school of the arcane arts, Valistar University, in the same once ruined fort near Billin. Although Valistar would later relocate to an empty Island, becoming in fact, a country in its own right, it's original proximity to Billin provided the town with a certain prestige, and the headmasters of Valistar University still hold a protective affection towards the small town.

so, there is a little bit of the history of the first story's starting region. Hopefully I will have the story itself up soon.
